Development and Validation of UV-spectrophotometric Method for the Estimation of Wintergreen Oil in Pharmaceutical Formulation

Abstract: Objectives: The study aimed to develop and validate a simple UV-spectrophotometric method for quantifying Wintergreen oil in micro/nanosponges. Materials Methods: was developed using acetonitrile as solvent system validated various parameters such linearity, precision, repeatability, the Limit of Detection (LOD), Quantification (LOQ), accuracy according ICH guidelines. Results: showed an absorption maximum at 237nm. Linearity between concentration absorbance established within range 2 28 mcg/mL regression coefficient 0.9746. recovery 97.14-107.82% % RSD less than 2% intraday, inter-day, ruggedness revealed that is accurate precise. LOD LOQ were determined 0.103 0.312 respectively. Insignificant changes values with deliberate variation indicate method's robustness. entrapment efficiency loading capacity ranged 88-97.82% 3.085-24.35%. Conclusion: validation results conclude simple, sensitive, precise, accurate, robust. Hence, used wintergreen procedure can further be adapted analysing other pharmaceutical preparations commercial products.
